Scenario
You are working as an Administrator in the marketing team of a company
that produces
Compact Discs. You have been asked to produce a draft cover for a new
CD. A rough
sketch of the layout is given below:

1 Create a new piece of artwork and set the size of the artwork to be
12 cm tall x 12 cm wide.

2 Import the image lakeland and apply the following transformations:
a) Crop the image to remove the shoreline (snow and mud) at
the bottom.
b) Flip the image horizontally so that the swan is on the left.
c) Resize the image in proportion so that it fits the width of the
artwork.
d) Move the image to the bottom of the artwork.
The bottom and sides of the image should now meet the border of the
artwork, leaving a blank space at the top for the text.

3 Draw a thick red line along the top border of the lakeland image.
Make sure that the line covers the top edge of the image.

2a 4 Import the image muslogo and place it in the top left corner of the
artwork, above the lakeland image.
4b 5 Rotate the muslogo image 90 degrees clockwise. Resize it to fit
between the top of the artwork and the lakeland image without
overlapping either.
2d 6 Draw a small square (approximately 1cm tall) in the top right corner
of the artwork.
4d 7 Copy the square twice, placing one copy just below the original and
one copy just to the left, as shown in the layout sketch. Make sure
none of the squares overlap.
4a 8 Colour the squares as follows:
bottom right square: black
top right square: blue
top left square: yellow

9 Enter the following text in black in a clear space at the top of the
artwork, on two lines as shown:

10 Enter the following title in black in a clear space above the lakeland
image and below Progress Ensemble

Stretch this title to fit the full width from the right edge of the
artwork to the muslogo on the left as shown in the sketch.

11 Save the artwork with the filename cdcover and print one copy in
colour.
Your manager has requested some changes:

12 a) Amend the title Lakeland Moods to become:

b) Resize the amended title so that it is the no wider than it was
before the amendment.
c) Change the colour of the title to red.
d) Delete the black square.

requested. Save the artwork with the filename cdfinal and print one
copy in colour.
